What exactly does a Neurofeedback treatment entail? A discussion with our practitioner Nancy Champagne to learn about your treatment and why Neurofeedback can help you; followed by 33 minutes of pure relaxation. During treatment, you’ll enjoy zero conversation, zero distraction, and the most enchanting sounds that take your brain into the deepest levels of zen.

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

Neurofeedback enhances brain function by naturally increasing production of neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, within the brain.  Relaxing with the Neuro system brings the mind and body into a meditative state which increases serotonin (our body’s natural “feel good” chemical which reduces feelings of depression and anxiety) and GABA (a chemical messenger in our brain which is known for producing a calming effect) benefiting the neurotransmitters in our brain.

Enhancing neurotransmitters supports our overall cognitive wellbeing.  Neurofeedback brain training detects sudden shifts and informs the brain through interruptions in the sound you are listening to.  These almost imperceptible pauses invite your central nervous system to pull away from this less-than-ideal path it was on.  This happens over and over until the natural self-correction becomes your new normal and your brain functions more efficiently, effectively and comfortably.  When this happens, you sleep better, are less stressed, can focus more easily and feel the joy of an easier life, despite the challenges you may face from the outside.

We have seen an exponential increase of concern in mental health.

If you or your child are feeling overwhelmed and are struggling to cope, or getting by okay, but want to achieve more, we are here to support you, you as a parent and your children in this unique and unprecedented challenging time.

We are now offering counselling therapy, as we would love to call today: TALK THERAPY. Talk Therapy sessions are a space for reflection, contemplative exploration, with a proactive approach that doesn’t pathologize challenges that we experience.

Our mission is to help you cope; take control of your days, and don’t let your days take control of you by focusing on the present and future and help you find joy and harmony in mind, body and spirit to live your best peaceful life.

Your Talk Therapy practitioner is Nancy Champagne. As a coach, she can help ground you in your core values and build your identity based on this foundation. She can help you clarify and create vision for what you really want and help you walk through it to achieve those goals. Available to children of all ages too, Nancy has several years experience working in schools as a teacher. You may leave your child to talk in privacy, or be present in the session.

This is a safe space to allow the individual to speak and be able to trust they will be heard in a confidential, non-judgemental, curious, open, empathic, flexible and engaging way.

1 hour and 90 minute Talk Therapy sessions are available.

You can now book a combined 1 hour or 90 minute “Talk + Neuro” therapy session.

relaxation massage therapy

Just need to relax, and let go?  We can help you with just that.  Relaxation massage therapy involves very light soothing strokes to help improve a relaxed mind and overall nice feel.  Deep problem areas are typically not treated in this form of massage.  If you have severe chronic pains, or just can't handle the pressures of deep massage, you may want to request a relaxation treatment.

SWEDISH MASSAGE THERAPY

The most common type of body-work performed today is the Swedish massage.  This is the technique of applying long, firm, broad strokes to the muscle to decrease toxins and inflammation, increase blood flow to the injured areas by increasing flexibility to the tissues and getting rid of any tension.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE THERAPY

Deep tissue treatments are the same as Swedish massage but in a deeper form.  This is a more efficient way of treating chronic tension and deep aches and pains.  It also helps with the breaking down of adhesions which in turn improves muscle mobility.  Deep tissue therapy includes very heavy pressure and different methods of muscle stripping to muscles and tendons.

PRE-NATAL MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage for pregnant women helps in the same way.  The main focus however is decreasing inflammation that occurs in pregnancy, relieving the usual low back pain and discomfort in the hips, and increasing relaxation - great for the mind while your body goes through major changes.

We have a pregnancy massage table with a large hole for your growing belly.  In your treatment you are able to lay face down (as you would in a normal massage).  You will be pillowed according to your body shape and size for optimal comfort.

It is very important for your therapist to know if you are pregnant.  We ask that you do not receive massage in your first trimester, for health precautions.  All health updates must be reviewed with your therapist in each treatment as many changes can occur month to month.

All of our therapists are trained in Pre-natal Massage Therapy.

cupping massage therapy

Cupping Massage Therapy is an alternative therapy that dates back to ancient Eastern cultures where a series of cups are placed on the back or other areas.  The cups create a suction to help break up old dead tissues under the skin that will in turn increase circulation, release toxins and relieve pain.  Cupping can provide relief for many health conditions such as muscular pain and tension, poor circulation, anxiety, some skin conditions, menstrual pain and cramping, and more.

Our qualified therapists for Cupping:  Tyler Burns, Renee Mejicanos and Angie Baydack

HOT STONE MASSAGE THERAPY

Warm yourself with our Hot Stone Massage Therapy treatment. Designed to soothe your aches, warm your muscles, and ultimately increase relaxation throughout your entire body. Volcanic rocks are heated and applied both in placement and in long massage strokes to the entire body. They retain heat to give the deepest, warming therapy.

Our qualified therapist for Hot Stone: Chelsea Parker

HEALTH CONDITIONS

It is very important to indicate any health conditions whether past or present on your patient history form.  This helps your therapist modify treatment according to your health.

INJURIES

Make sure your therapist knows of any injuries you may have experienced in past or present.  Certain techniques are contraindicated if you are injured.  Knowing past injuries helps your therapist understand different body imbalances you may have today.

surgeries

Be sure to check with your doctor to make sure you are okay to receive Massage Therapy if you have just had a surgical procedure.  It is good to inform your therapist if you had any surgeries in the past so they are aware during treatment.

PREGNANCY

Due to quick changes of health during pregnancy, it is good to check with your doctor to make sure you are ok to receive Massage Therapy.  It is advised that you do not receive massage during your first trimester.
